On 9th December 2004, the ICL (India Cements Limited) Swimming Pool, which now forms the Headquarters of the Indian Triathlon Academy in Chennai, was officially opened by Mr. P.W.C Davidar, Member Secretary of Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority.

The 6 lane 25 meter pool is the result of a much concerted effort by Indian Triathlon President Mr. N. Ramachandran to provide International Level Training facilities for athletes of the Triathlon Academy in Chennai to ensure that they have every chance of future success at the International Level.

The facility now provides the Triathlon Academy with the opportunity to run a number of Swim and Aquathlon Programs to further enhance the development of Triathlon within India and prepare athletes for the future.
