Prevention of Age Fraud
Introduction
The Indian Triathlon Federation (ITF) is in full compliance with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports regarding the National Code against Age Fraud in Sports. Age fraud is a serious offence that undermines fair competition and athlete development at every level of the sport.
National Code on Prevention of Age Fraud
All member units must ensure that the Date of Birth (DOB) of triathletes registered with ITF is accurate and in good standing. ITF reserves the right to conduct or require medical examinations to verify age where necessary, in line with the National Code.
Penalties for Age Fraud Infringements
The Indian Triathlon Federation imposes strict penalties for age fraud violations in accordance with ITF guidelines and the National Code. Sanctions may include suspension, disqualification from events, and revocation of ITF-PIN registration.
Verification During ITF-PIN Registration
During ITF-PIN registration, athletes must submit two Government-recognised ID proofs. If the details provided do not match official records, the account will be deactivated until the discrepancy is resolved.
Medical Age Testing
ITF may conduct random age verification tests through certified medical professionals. Athletes found in violation will face penalties as per federation guidelines. An appeal process is available for athletes who wish to contest a finding.
