India Shines at Asia Triathlon Cup & South Asian Championship 2025 in Pokhara

Pokhara, Nepal, April 2025: The Asia Triathlon Cup and South Asian Championship held in the scenic city of Pokhara provided a strong international platform for Indian athletes, with a 13-member Indian contingent competing in the sprint-distance event.

India delivered a standout performance at the South Asian Championship, with Sarungbam Athouba Meitei and Dolly Devidas Patil clinching gold medals in their respective categories, underlining the country’s growing dominance in the South Asian region.

Consistent Performances in Men’s Field

Sarungbam Athouba Meitei led the Indian contingent with a 9th-place finish (00:58:15), in addition to securing South Asian Championship gold. Parth Mirage finished 15th (01:03:02), followed closely by Angad Ingalekar in 16th (01:04:44) and Mihir Bathija in 17th (01:04:51). Sridath Sudheer secured 18th place (01:06:05). Ankan Bhattacharjee, Arnab Bhattacharya, Aman Chahar, and Jalaj Arora were lapped and could not complete the race standings.

In the women’s event:

Dolly Devidas Patil delivered an excellent performance, finishing 6th with a time of 01:04:33, while also securing gold at the South Asian Championship. Mansi Mohite achieved a commendable 9th-place finish (01:06:42). Heena Phogat and Anwesha Ghosh were lapped during the race.

With podium finishes and multiple top-10 results, the championship served as a confidence-boosting outing and a valuable benchmark as Indian triathletes continue to prepare for higher-level international competitions.
